NPS - U.S. National Park Service

The complete symbol set is made up of more than 250 symbols with a wide range of messages and meanings. According to the U.S. National Park Service website NPS symbols are free and in the public domain. They derive from Ultimate Symbol Collection, a commercial product that offers hundreds of additional symbols. While many pictograms/symbols seem to be well comprehensable, some are less known and need to be explained.
